Laura Cook Harrington, RN, MHA, CHCQM, FAIHQ

Laura Cook Harrington is a senior nurse consultant in the consulting division and the director of credentialing and privileging at The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc., in Marblehead, MA. She is an experienced healthcare manager with extensive experience in the areas of performance improvement, risk, case management, and credentialing. She is a registered nurse, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, and Fellow of the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians. She graduated from Texas Woman's University with a bachelor's degree in nursing and master's degree in healthcare administration.

Previously, Harrington served as the chief quality and safety officer at a 230-physician ambulatory group practice in Houston and San Antonio and was responsible for creating, reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring quality, risk, and utilization initiatives. In addition, she was responsible for regulatory and accreditation compliance and maintained all supportive documents. She obtained five full accreditations through the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and two from the National Committee on Quality Assurance. She received the CIO Annual Enterprise Value Award for her contribution toward enhancing informational systems for monitoring the quality of clinical services.

Harrington has facilitated administrative and medical staff retreats and is considered an expert in quality, medical management, credentialing, accreditation, surveys, inspections, and corporate compliance. She combines her clinical and administrative experience to reengineer processes to achieve optimum improvements for efficiency and to decrease overhead while enhancing the customer's satisfaction.
