Change is in the wind, however.
I am sure many of you are familiar with or have read the change management book, Who Moved My Cheese?, published in 1998 by Dr. Spencer Johnson. It is a tale of four individuals who experience unexpected change to their environment and have to learn to adapt or not. In my travels and work with medical services professionals across the country over the course of the past few years, I am encountering numerous scenarios that are representative of Who Moved My Cheese?—at times leading the personnel in the medical staff services departments (MSSD) to wonder, “Who moved my medical staff?”
