Senior Consultant, Clinical Transformation

Kelsey McGinty, DNP, FNP-C, RN, CPHQ, CPPS, CIC, HACP-CMS is a Senior Consultant on the Clinical Transformation Team at Chartis, focused on Clinical Compliance and High Reliability Care. Kelsey brings over a decade of specialized expertise in clinical nursing, advanced practice, leadership, patient safety and quality, and curriculum development to the practice.  

Prior to joining Chartis, Kelsey led efforts targeting Clinical Excellence, with oversight of the Patient Safety, Quality, Infection Control, and Stroke programs among a local entity of Johns Hopkins Medicine. In this role, Kelsey held responsibility for driving clinical outcomes with a focused delivery of innovative care pathways targeting the reduction of hospital acquired conditions, adverse safety events, and the maintenance of regulatory compliance. Clinically, Kelsey has served as an advanced practice provider within the community setting, supporting asthma, allergy, immunology, and metabolic disease state management. Her experience in clinical nursing is derived in trauma care, where she practiced as a clinical nurse, resource mentor, and service leader within the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, the first and only integrated trauma hospital within the United States. 

An advocate for professional development, inquiry, and scholarship, Kelsey is a seasoned academician. She supports undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, nationally, with a focus on healthcare quality, leadership, education, and capstone implementation. Kelsey is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, School of Nursing, where she completed her pre-licensure and specialty training. She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a dual focus in family practice and holds board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).  

She is nationally certified as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CHPQ) through the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), a Professional of Patient Safety (CPPS) through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and a Professional in Healthcare Accreditation with a specialty focus on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Conditions of Participation (HACP-CMS) through the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ).  She is a member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and holds a Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) from APIC’s Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
